The Georgia-Florida rivalry has always evoked emotions for Bulldog and Gator fans, and for many the rivalry culminates with the football classic that has taken place in each year since 1933 in Jacksonville, FL on the gridiron.  For the past 14 years fans have been treated to a rivalry not quite as old but every bit as heated despite being played on ice – the Georgia-Florida hockey classic on Friday night prior to the football showdown.  This Friday at the Jacksonville Ice and Sportsplex marks the 15th year that the hockey teams from Georgia and Florida will face-off in Jacksonville during the football rivalry weekend, and with SEC Hockey conference and national ranking implications on the line much like the football game, this battle on the ice is sure to be hard hitting and high flying.
