The University of Georgia hockey team opened up the 2012-13 regular season with a big bang Friday night, defeating the Auburn Tigers 10-3, with eight goals in the first period.

The Ice Dogs (1-0-0) led 8-1 after one period and added a goal in the second and third periods. Auburn (0-3-0) scored one goal in each period.
