The Georgia Ice Dogs are preparing this week for two SEC showdowns at the Savannah Civic Center. Georgia will face-off against South Carolina on Friday, Oct. 12, and a re-match with Auburn on Saturday, Oct. 13 as part of the Spine & Sport Cobblestone Hockey Cup. This season marks 15 years of collegiate hockey in Savannah with the traditional Hockey Classic held each January that brings sellout crowds to the Civic Center. Event coordinators are hoping for similar success in this first year of the October event in Savannah.
Having dropped two close battles with the Gamecocks last season, Georgia has their sights dialed in on the reportedly improved South Carolina squad. USC skated stride for stride with perennial top ranked Central Florida last weekend, and looks to be a handful for the 1-0 Dogs in the Savannah fall classic.
Tickets are on sale now thru the Savannah Civic Center box office. http://savannahvisit.com/event/index.php?ms=183&tb=1
