The Georgia ice hockey team completed their SEC regular season schedule with a 5-3 win over highly touted Vanderbilt and a closely contested 6-3 loss to a surging South Carolina, finishing with a winning 5-3 record in the SEC East division. Currently tied for first place in the division with Florida and South Carolina, the Bulldogs must now wait for the completion of the final two games between South Carolina and Vanderbilt on February 8 and 9 to determine the final divisional standings and tournament seedings for the SEC Hockey playoffs held in Huntsville, AL February 22-24. Finishing in one of the top spots in the SEC East secures Georgia a spot in the conference championship tournament for the 5th season in a row, all five seasons of the SEC Hockey conference existence.
