Saturday, Oct 18 Georgia 4 FSU 3, OT
The Seminoles struck first again Saturday night just two minutes into the game on the power play on a redirected mid-air tip that got past Kevin Smith in the Bulldogs net. Georgia answered with 4:35 remaining in the first period on an Eric Maugie goal from Lucas Warner. Florida State retook the lead early in the second period only to have the Bulldogs tie the game at 2 on a goal by Alex Carey from Bakin and Bray with eight minutes left in the second. Georgia took their first lead of the game 2:10 into the third period when freshman Zach Flasch roofed a shot past Calesp in the FSU goal. The Semionles tied the game at three with 6:11 remaining in regulation. Despite a late 5-minute power play after a dangerous boarding by FSU’s Phillips the Dawgs failed to get a puck past Cuespo in the Florida State goal. But an FSU penalty with 2:33 left in the OT led to an offensive zone face-off. Falkenstein won the draw back to Dixon Babb who fired a low slap shot leaving a rebound for Falkenstein to slide into the net for the UGA win.
Georgia outshot FSU 62-41 on Saturday night, and 118-61 in the two games this weekend.
