SECHC Tournament Recap
By: Tyler Farmer
Over the weekend, the Ice Dawgs came up short in their bid for a third consecutive SEC Hockey Conference Tournament Championship. After obliterating Auburn 12-0 on Friday, Georgia lost in Saturday’s semi-final game, a 6-5 heartbreaker, to arch rival Florida. Trailing 5-2 late in the third period, Georgia stormed back, but the furious rally came up just short.
With the loss, the Ice Dawgs fell to the consolation bracket to play the loser of Arkansas and Kentucky on Sunday morning. Arkansas defeated Kentucky 7-2, so Georgia had a chance to enact some revenge against the Wildcats for last weekend’s defeat.
