The annual Ice Dawgs golf tournament is set to take place, where the University of Georgia Ice Dawgs will swap their hockey sticks for golf clubs. This event, held during the offseason, serves as a fundraiser for the team’s travel, equipment and other expenses.
Scheduled for April 22, the 2024 tournament will be hosted at the University of Georgia golf course. Registration kicks off at 8 a.m., and the shotgun start commences shortly after 9 a.m.

The tournament offers various contests, including closest to the pin, longest drive and a putting competition.

Ice Dawgs merchandise will be for sale at the course, offering items like short and long sleeve tees, sweatshirts, golf balls and more.
Not only will the tournament’s victor earn bragging rights for the year, they will also go home with the tournament’s highly coveted red jacket, the UGA Hockey version of the green Master’s jacket.
“I love the red jackets, I think it makes the tournament even more memorable and makes everyone step up their game a bit,” said last year’s winner and current Ice Dawgs forward, David Eberly. “I know the team at least is gunning for me this year, they aren’t happy I have it.”

“Winning the golf tournament was awesome. I know it’s mainly just for fun and having a good time but winning is definitely an added bonus,” Eberly said. “You better have a good ringer because ours is better.”
