Bulldogs Battling Breast Cancer

Bulldogs Battling Breast Cancer was created with the focus of fighting breast cancer through early detection and providing assistance to women who don't have access to the resources that can prevent or fight the disease.

In October 2003, Teresa Abbott was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of Stage 3 Breast Cancer. After her 18 month battle with breast cancer, Teresa and her husband, Jay, decided they wanted to help other women fight and give back for all the blessings and support they received.

Since 2009, BBBC has donated over $204,000 to St. Mary’s for our breast health imaging program. Their funding supported the purchase of two digital mammography machines, that was credited to catch cancers early. It has also provided free mammography testing and the purchase of needed supplies.

The Partnership with the Ice Dawgs:

The UGA Ice Dawgs are proud to be sponsors of, and community partners with Bulldogs Battling Breast Cancer. Every year, the Ice Dawgs host a "Pink in the Rink" event in October to raise money for BBBC. Special jerseys are order and auctioned off, with 100% of proceeds donated.

Join the Ice Dawgs at the at Akins Arena at the Classic Center on October 14th, 2021 for this years "Pink in the Rink" as they face off against Georgia Tech and see these jerseys in action. During this game, spectators can pledge any amount to donate ($5, $10, $20, etc.) every time the Dawgs score. Come and enjoy the game while contributing to this life changing organization.
